Welcome, and thank you for visiting my website. I'm a classically trained musician, a composer, and a writer, and I have diverse experiences in performing and creating. I play a wide range of music, from original music to jazz standards to pop songs to classical arias. I play the piano, guitar, and the folk harp. Once upon a time I was first chair trumpet in my high school band.
I've composed music for a number of local and community groups. I especially love writing music for voices. My experience as a writer has led me naturally to collaborations with poet-friends, and I have been extremely fortunate to compose numerous musical settings of poems by extremely talented writers.
I have a B.A. in Music from the University of St. Catherine and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing form the Inland Northwest Center for Writers.
Some of my favorite performance experiences are:
Performing with the Spokane Symphony and Terrain, Playing Seattle PrideFest's Main Stage, playing Spokane's Pride, performing at the Media Arts and Literacy Institute's Women's Festival in Austin, touring the West Coast and the Midwest, singing with Cloud Cult at Minnesota Orchestra Hall, opening for Trampled by Turtles...but my very, very favorite performance experience is singing lullabies to and with my two little kids, every night.
