Big thanks to Charlie at Charlie Cinematic for filming at my album release! Check out Bethany’s tap solo in What I Can’t Have!
Last night I got to play a cool backyard show in St. Paul for a collection of dear, dear friends. Thanks to all of you who came out. I was amazed at how attentive the audience was–and a third of them were under 10! All the love from the show last night is a great way for me to head into today–the official ALBUM RELEASE!
I would love to see you there, Minneapolis friends. It’s going to be a seriously fun show, and it is free!
I am going to have some instrumentation I’ve never had in my band before, and it’s going to blow your mind. Okay, I’ll tell you–there will be a tap dancer.
Yeah, that’s right, a tap dancer! My friend Bethany DeLine, who is also plays the ukelele and sings, is totally kick ass!
And, of course, I’ll also be joined by the stunning talents Dan Zamzow and Jake Staron.
See you tonight at 9 pm!

Here’s what the kind folks at the Inlander said about me, which made me feel all warm and sparkly like a gem:
LIZ ROGNES | Folk | Liz Rognes makes simple music beautiful. The Spokane-by-way-of-Minnesota singer-songwriter has fast risen in the local scene with her powerful real-life songwriting. She’s a unique female singer: her vocals often starting submissive and evolving into something strong and powerful. A true Spokane gem. Facebook.com/liz-rognes-music

Hope to see you tonight!

Saturday, June 30th @ Acadia Cafe MINNEAPOLIS ALBUM RELEASE!!!
Hey friends and fan, I know it’s been a while since I’ve posted, and here’s why:
*I’ve been working hard on my upcoming album (looking like a June release for Topographies!)
*I’ve been working a bajillion jobs to make ends meet and to try to raise a little additional funding for mastering, duplication, etc.
*I’ve been traveling to Mexico, Canada, the actual coast of the West Coast, Oregon, San Francisco, Spokane, and then hangin’ around Couer d’Alene, Idaho, where I am at this moment. Why CDA, you ask? Why not.
But I want to let you know that I’m getting into the swing of spring, and there are a few shows coming up in Spokane, Seattle, and Minneapolis. Here’s what I’ve got:
TODAY March 16th: Luxe Coffeehouse for $3. Spokane. Trickster Fox, my friend and a transplanted musician from the East Coast, is releasing her EP on vinyl, and I have the honor of playing at her show. Here’s the lineup: Trickster Fox, Liz Rognes, Dead Serious Lovers, and Andy Rumsey. Doors at 6:00, show starts at 7, and this is ALL AGES!
April 5th: Conor Byrne Pub. Seattle. Day Laborers & Petty Intellectuals, Liz Rognes, Stafan Paul George, Scott Ibex. 9pm.
May 9th: Brews on Washington. Spokane. 8:30 pm.
Upcoming SOON: Topographies Album Release at the end of June in Minneapolis and early July in Spokane. I smell the faint aroma of a possible Minneapolis to Seattle tour in July. Cross your fingers. Solidified dates tba before you know it!
Here’s a lil’ video from my friend Ryan Drake, who is ridiculously talented, of me performing Red Flags last summer at my Flirty Thirty birthday show. Wanna hear this song live? Come out tonight to Luxe, and I’ll play it for you!
Howdy folks. Last week I had the fantastic opportunity to perform on The Local Lounge, a weekly local music show hosted by the wonderful Matt Loi of 103.1 KCDA. You can listen to the full interview, live songs, and even a couple of sneak peek tracks from my forthcoming album!
Thanks to Matt Loi and Rajah Bose. This was a really fun show to do!
Wow, check out the beautiful, skillful filming of my friend Ryan Drake! He brought a fantastic crew to my 30th birthday show, and here are a couple of the songs from that night. My favorite thing about Paste is that if you watch it all the way through, there’s actually a white horse and carriage walking past the window at the very end. Ahhhh, St. Anthony Main in Minneapolis! You can see a bit of the city skyline behind us as well. And my favorite thing about Solid Ground is, BY FAR, Rachel Price. SOOOOO SAXY!!!
So, enjoy these and watch the others if you’d like, which are on Ryan’s Youtube page (and watch everything he’s done–there are some sweet videos from our friends Deep Soul Deities and 3 lbs of Love, too!).
This show was so much fun! If you couldn’t be there, here’s a little taste of what went down. You’ll see my friends Dan Zamzow on drums, Rachel Price on saxophone, vox, and charango, and Jake Staron on bass.
Thanks so much, Ryan. You’re the best!
